Welcome to the Villages of Westminster!

About Us

The Villages of Westminster is a quiet community nestled in James City County within the colonial heart of Virginia. Outside the beautifully landscaped villages, residents can enjoy shopping, entertainment, college sporting events and rich national history. With convenient access to I-64, Westminster is the ideal neighborhood for those who would like to live in Williamsburg but commute to other areas of Hampton Roads or Richmond.
381 single family residences comprise the four quaint neighborhoods of Kensington, Somerset, Cambridge, and Oxford. The neighbors enjoy   access to a large community pool, a shared clubhouse, recreational vehicle storage and the well-maintained landscaping that enriches our common areas.

Contact: VOW Social Committee
Details: If you attended the July 4th cookout, you know that we have a great time when we come together as neighbors! Following up on that success, we’re hosting a Fall Festival on November 19, from 11am – 2pm. We’re hoping that you’ll join us as we take a break together as neighbors before the whirl of the holiday season. We will be doing a pot-luck again, this time with a Chili theme. Bring a pot of your favorite chili or a side that goes with it. The neighborhood will supply hot dogs and drinks. We’re going to have several activities for the kids, including face-painting, a bounce house, and carnival games. James City County will also be setting up in the clubhouse to do fingerprinting and identification cards for all ages. Everyone can stroll around the vendor fair; we are encouraging the business owners in the neighborhood to setup a table to promote their businesses. And all ages will enjoy yummy fall snacks like hot apple cider, caramel apples, and cotton candy! You can sign up for out Chili Potluck at: http://www.luckypotluck.com/potluck/2011FallFestival or contact Heather Seltzer at 757-869-3580 or jhaseltzer@gmail.com. To make this a hit, we’ll need a few good men (and women and children) to volunteer.

June 02, 2011 - Memo from the President, Pool Delay
Summary: A memo from the board president related to the pool delay.
Contact: Villages of Westminster HOA
Details: Message:
After inspection early this spring, the board was told of issues to the lining of the pool that needed to be addressed before it could open. Initial estimates were close to $40,000, which the board did not approve. Doing our due diligence as stewards of the Villages’ funds, the board obtained other estimates and learned what other options were available, in an effort to avoid any unnecessary assessments or gross capital expenses.

Between the discovery process, selecting a vendor, and the thunderstorms we had a few weeks ago, work began later than expected. Additionally, the pump malfunctioned and parts were ordered for that repair. While the opening delay is disappointing for everyone, many homeowners will be relieved to know that no special assessment for pool repair is necessary this year, and the repairs that we are making are in-line with the reserve study completed a couple years ago.

Several homeowners have asked about extending the season in the fall. Our contract with the pool management company that provides lifeguards, as well as the pool cleaning and chemical testing / maintenance, is separate from the repairs that needed to be made. As a Board, we will be exploring any options that may be available and will look to see if extending the season is an available option. The board will discuss it at the July meeting.

If you would like the opportunity to ask questions about the process, or to participate in future discussions related to the management of our community, we welcome you to the July board meeting. The board is looking for volunteers to serve of various committees, including the pool committee, and we encourage you to get involved.

Thank you,

John Bollinger
